I confess. Scalp acne sucks. And here’s why…
Like most teenagers, I was a victim for several years to bad acne. But not just any kind of acne, it was scalp zits. It was annoying and painful when left untreated for longer than a few days.
That’s not it, It did scalp pimples hurt (mines was moderate), it was made even worst because it’s hard to get direct access to treat the problem when your hair is in the way. Shaving my head was not an option, so there had to be another way to treat it.
So I went to see a dermatologists, and the results she shared with me was shocking…
The cause of my acne was drinking too much caffeine like soda and coffee.
we have tried several different methods recommended from books and magazines with no real results, but in one short 20 minute session I found out the cure to my scalp acne would be to stop drinking so much caffeine.
That’s not it, It that, but I learned that the styling gels I use contained chemical compounds and synthetic oils I was allergic to. This triggered my scalp pimples.
An alternative I was told to use was regular dandruff shampoo. There are acne treatable ingredients in dandruff shampoo like zinc has been proven to clear acne prone skin, and other ingredients like ketoconasole and ciclopirox is taught to be helpful in getting rid of your acne.
There are several reasons why people get scalp acne. For some it’s hereditary, and they need medicine treatment to stop flare up’s. For you it could be stress. Everyone’s scalp acne treatment is slightly different from another.
